Copyright Protection & Registration

Copyright Protection & Registration

Safeguard Your Songs and Secure Your Rights!

When you write a song in the Unites States, it's yours - you already own the copyright the moment it is fixed in tangible form. When you REGISTER your copyright with the United States Copyright Office you get critical legal protections:

Statutory damages up to $150,000 per infringed work (unregistered works are difficult to prove)
Eligiblity to sue in federal court
Public record of your ownership claim

You also receive the following rights under U.S. law:

Reproduction rights to make copies of your work
Derivative works: The right to make adaptations or works based on the original
Distribution rights to sell or license your work
Performance right to perform your work publicly

You can file yourself, but the application process involves selecting the correct form, properly classifying your work (as per USCO rules), correctly identifying claimants, and depositing submissions in the correct format. Mistakes can cause delays, rejections, or incomplete coverage.

That's why our clients choose us.
